Festival of Hope


The 5th Annual Festival of Hope is a 1-day festival featuring a variety of elements to engage and information the community that there is hope. The event is put on by the Tulare and Kings Counties Suicide Prevention Task Force. The 2014 event was held on September 27th. More info at sptf.org

Visalians Race Against Hunger

2014 marks the 10 year anniversary of the “Race Against Hunger”, the largest 5K in the Central Valley benefiting Visalia Emergency Aid Council (VEAC).   For over 83 years VEAC has provided food, clothing and shelter to needy families in Tulare County.  From its humble beginnings in 2005 at a supermarket parking lot with 250 participants,  the “Race Against Hunger”   has grown to over 5,000 participants comprised of businesses, civic organizations, families and friends.  It has become the premiere advocacy event for alleviating hunger in Tulare County.  (from http://veac.org/how-to-help/race-against-hunger/)

Autumn is Coming

The Oval Park is hosting an event on Facebook. A good-bye to summer and welcoming of Autumn picnic gathering Tuesday, September 23 at 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Grab dinner from one of the surrounding restaurants on the loop, plop down a chair or blanket and enjoy the 86º evening with old and new friends alike.

B.Y.O.B.F.C.B.E. (Bring your own beverage, food, chair, blanket, etc). Frisbees, soccer balls, and other family-style activities/items are encouraged. Park closes at 8:00pm.

Visalia SpecTRACKular is a special event taking place on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Learning, participation and physical exercise are the main elements of this event which is NEW to Visalia!

With various races like sprints and long distance runs, the standing long jump and softball throw, boys and girls ages four to 14 years of age are welcome to compete.

2014 Visalia Hobbies RC Heli AMA Fun Fly

Here is a video of the Annual Visalia AMA Heli-Bash Fun Fly, Tulare Ag Center January 3-5, 2014.  Lot's of people, heli's, flying and great pilots! Team Pilots from Align and Horizon and even A Main Hobbies were there. Great food, fun flying and a heli pilots oasis!
